Michigan Senate Bill No. 1 and House Bill No. 4397 were passed and put into effect on June 11, 2019. These changes impact your current policy. Please be aware of these changes in coverage:
* Drivers or occupants of private passenger automobiles and pedestrians are no longer provided
* Personal Injury Protection (PIP) through our named insured’s policy unless they are:
1. A Named Insured
2. The named insured’s spouse, or
3. A resident relative of either
Instead, if they are a Michigan resident, they will be afforded PIP benefits through the Michigan Assigned Claims Plan (MACP) with a limit of $250,000. This includes drivers, other than spouses, who reside outside of the named insured’s residence, pedestrians/bicyclists & passengers who are not a Named Insured or Resident Relative, and unrelated household members
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING YOUR NO-FAULT COVERAGE
June 11, 2019 changes to Michigan N-Fault Insurance Laws impact your policy. If any of the following apply to you, your policy may provide limited or no coverage in the event of a loss.
• Are there any drivers listed on your policy that do not reside with you
• Are there individuals domiciled in your home who are not related to the named insured on your policy (Regardless of whether they are named as a driver on your policy)
• Are there individuals who reside with you that you have not disclosed
• Does anyone that is not listed as a driver on your policy have regular use of any of your vehicle
(Regardless of where they reside)
• Are there co-titled holders on any of your insured vehicles that you have not properly disclosed
• Are any of your vehicles used for business purposes or for a company such as Uber or Lyft
